We’re thrilled to share that an Urban Slab & Timber creation has been featured in The French Tangerine! The article highlights a stunning walnut kitchen countertop we created from an Omaha tree with an incredible story.

This piece came from a Victory Tree planted after WWII, symbolizing hope and resilience. When the tree was milled, our client and Omaha designer, Richard requested the lighter sapwood for a unique “planked” appearance, resulting in a countertop that’s smooth as silk, durable, and perfect for his busy kitchen.

Every slab at Urban Slab & Timber carries a story. This one honors history, craftsmanship, and community. We are so grateful to play a part in giving this tree a new chapter. Stay tuned as we release the full story of the Victory Log—it’s one you won’t want to miss.
